“These are the Best Days of our Lives”
This calligraphy is what I wake up to in the morning and see before going to sleep every night. My friends Greg and Jenny brought it back from China and now it lives in a frame above the bed spanning the entire width. We’re such a forgetful species, we need our regular reminders—-not just for the good days, but even (and most especially) when the times are turbulent or uncertain.
The town buds and flowers are emerging with hesitation this week, but in the woods some of the wildflowers are in full bloom. I finally remembered to bring the camera along on today’s walk. The underbrush has not yet taken over so I can still see through the trees, and am keeping an ever watchful eye out for that motherlode of morels…
May you get outside on this spring day, the best day of your life.
