It’s been quite a year, full of many blessings and challenges.  We said farewell to what seemed like an inordinate number of our artists in the past twelve months–some of my main influences like David Bowie, Prince and Leonard Cohen, then so many other larger-than-lifers—Leon Russell, Merle Haggard, George Michael, Maurice White (Earth Wind & Fire), and John Berry (Beastie Boys), Gene Wilder, Gwen Ifill, Morley Safer, Mohammad Ali, Fidel Castro, Zsa Zsa, Alan Rickman, Carrie Fisher…the list goes on and on, including many in our inner circles.

Maybe we’re making room for the inspirational art that is about to happen this year, clearing the path for the metamorphosis inside and and emergence from our chrysalis.  But Art and Growth are both messy and unpredictable…if it’s all too much, go outside and take a walk.

Rob Brezney says it so well, here is his wish for all of us 2017:

your debts forgiven

your wounds healed

your apologies accepted

your generosity expanded

your love educated

your desires clarified

your uniqueness unleashed

your untold stories heard

your insight heightened

your load lightened

your wildness rejuvenated

your leaks plugged

your courage stoked

your fears dissolved

your imagination fed

your creativity uncorked
